MY AWESOME COMPILATION

February 11, 2005
[interview by Andrew]

Estrella: Hi, for the purpose of the interview could you please tell us your name and what you do in the band?
Darius: Hi, I’m Darius I play bass guitar.
Woody: Hi, I’m Woody and I’m on keys.
Chris: I’m Chris and I do guitar and sing. It’s lovely.

Estrella: How’s everything been for you guys since the release of, "The View Is Amazing"?
Chris: Seems like [ages] ago really
Woody: Yeah, everything’s been really good and we found out we’ve sold like 4,000 copies in Japan.
Chris: Yeah, we’ve just been touring and writing loads of new stuff, everything’s been very good.

Estrella: How would you describe your band to someone who hasn’t heard you guys yet?
Darius: We were actually just discussing that exact same thing before. I think we settled on Melodic Rock.
Chris: Yeah Melodic Rock, that’s the one.

Estrella: So how’s the tour with Fall Out Boy going so far?
Darius: Really really bad, no just kidding.
Woody: All the nights had been really good up until last night when we had a few technical difficulties.
Darius: Yeah.
Woody: Apart from that, everything has been running really smooth and stuff, so yeah.
Chris: Yeah, Fall Out Boy have been really great, they’ve sounding great, we’ve been great, we look great.
Darius: It’s the first time we’ve ever had our own sound guy, as well. It’s been really cool generally playing bigger venues, as well and the boys from Fall Out Boy and Spitalfield have been great, they’re great guys.

Estrella: What’s the craziest thing that’s ever happened to you guys while on tour?
Darius: Woody once ran naked through a Dutch street. That’s the best.
Chris: Yeah, we were all pretty drunk one time and Darius got really drunk on Shandy and stuck a rabbit up his arse.
Darius: Yeah, I had to go to the doctor’s to get that one out.
Chris: Yeah, that one’s not entirely true.
Darius: I don’t know really quite a few strange things have happened. Can’t think of one right now but...
Chris: Normally when we’re drunk.

Estrella: What bands are you guys all listening to at the moment?
Darius: Loads of different stuff really.
Woody: I’ve been listening a lot to The Killers.
Darius: Yeah, I agree with that and also a lot of Hundred Reasons and Jimmy Eat World, we’ve been listening to a lot recently.

Estrella: So what does the rest of 2005 hold in store for My Awesome Compilation?
Woody: After this tour we go straight into the studio and start recording our album and then after that back to touring. It’s gonna be a massively busy year for us, we’ll release a couple of singles, the album's out in August, I think.
Chris: Just can’t wait to get into the studio, really.

Estrella: Anymore big tours planned for this year?
Woody: There’s a couple in the pipeline, hopefully we’ll be back touring in May but it’s all to be confirmed at the moment. Watch this space.

Estrella: What would be the greatest thing to happen to MAC this year?
Darius: This year, probably this tour really to be honest. Also just to get...
Chris: Also, just to get the album out and have people enjoy it.

Estrella: If a genie gave you three wishes, what would you wish for?
Chris: I would wish for...
Darius: Two playmates of the year
Chris: I would wish for history to be changed and to be made out that I was the inventor of electricity.
Darius: I would wish to be 7 foot tall, but I’m still 5 foot 10 with little fingers.
Woody: I would wish to go back in time before Jimmy Eat World tickets sold out because they are sold out now.
Darius: That is a rubbish wish, what a waste.
Chris: I can’t believe you just wasted one of our wishes on that.

Estrella: Do you guys having last comments or closing statements?
Chris: Check out our singles, check out our album and come and see us.
Darius: Does anyone know how not to get a cold or can someone buy me a book on how to not get a cold then that would be very nice.
